August Welcomes Gini Illick for her exhibit, “We Are Fellow Travelers”

“Always trying to understand what drives me to paint, it occurs to me that in painting I am trying to explain the reality of the natural world- I am looking for a metaphor. We are, in Carl Sagan’s words, ‘made of stardust.’ Everything comes from one huge event- The Big Bang. We are all related. We need to pay attention to, and be respectful of our fellow travelers. We are all in this together.
