“When you get really close to her artwork, it’ “When you get really close to her artwork, it’s ... very much like impressionistic work,” gallery owner Karen Anderer says. “It’s very chaotic.”
That chaos, and each piece’s many layers, reveal depth that could be missed with a passing glance — much like real-life people in day-to-day life.” -LNP

MICHAEL BARTMANN “I evoke an emotion using spat MICHAEL BARTMANN

“I evoke an emotion using spatial dimension, atmosphere, and defining architecture. There are many paintings within the painting. Typically there is not just one straightforward view, but many spatial directions and abstractions of space to move through. I am interested more in a journey through the space and paint than a particular fixed image. I create a space that the viewer is free to roam around in. There are no figures in the paintings because I want the figures in the paintings to be the viewer.”

Being a fan of George Shipperley’s artwork for q Being a fan of George Shipperley’s artwork for quite some time, it is my pleasure to announce that George, who was part of the 2022 Invitational has joined KAFA. New Arrivals are Coming Soon! 🔜

“Imagination is what I rely on for freedom of expression. Many artists quite successfully initiate the process with references and preliminary sketches. I prefer allowing the paint to dictate what direction to follow because they rarely end up as originally intended. All that matters to me is originality, good composition, creative color harmony, and a feeling of expression.
How we paint, 𝙉𝙤𝙩 what we paint is key to a successful work of art.”

A native of Illinois, Shipperley studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and Aurora University.
George Shipperley and his wife, Lois, opened the Henrich Art Gallery and Custom Frame Shop in Aurora, Illinois, which they ran successfully for 34 years before closing the operation in 2011.
